The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) hosted a training course geared towards the Acceleration and Promotion of Geothermal Energy Investment Opportunities for the period of February 13th to 22nd 2023 at the JICA Yokohama Center, Japan.
Financial Controller at the Nevis Electricity Company Ltd. (NEVLEC), Mrs. Roma Hanley Merchant attended the course and was able to obtain developmental skills to aid in the evaluation of investment proposals.
Potential investors and financiers were able to network during the training session.
The program was very timely since we are actively seeking financing for our Geothermal Project in St Kitts and Nevis. The presentations were informative and the knowledge gained invaluable.
”It is my intention to use the knowledge gained during the course for the benefit of our Geothermal Project and by extension the entire country of St Kitts and Nevis. I will also advocate for more governmental involvement to facilitate the improvement of our current policies and regulations for renewable energy development. I extend my profound gratitude to JICA and NEVLEC for the opportunity of a lifetime!”- Mrs. Hanley-Merchant
At NEVLEC we believe that it is imperative to equip our staff with the necessary training and skillset to ensure the company performs at its fullest potential.
Congratulations Mrs. Roma Hanley-Merchant!
