Thursday August 15th, 2024, saw the official Closing Ceremony for the Department of Youth and Sports Summer Job Attachment Program (SJAP) 2024. The ceremony was held at the Jessups Community Centre where the interns who were attached to various businesses received certificates of completion as well as awards in different categories.
Driven by our motto “Working towards a brighter future”, NEVLEC is indeed delighted to have partnered with the Department of Youth and Sports through SJAP 2024. NEVLEC became the home for four (4) eager, brilliant and promising young individuals as follows: Mr. Joshua Smith, Ms. Xzania Brookes, Mr. Tesean Newton and Ms. J’vani Fraser.
Ms. Nakita Thibou, Corporate Communication Officer, presented testimonials on the performance of the four interns who were attached to NEVLEC. Her overview outlined the following:
Joshua Smith who was assigned to the Generation Department was described as focused, attentive, enthusiastic, takes instruction well and eager to learn.
Xzania Brookes, who was assigned to the Customer Service Department, was described as punctual, professional and a fast learner.
Tesean Newton, who was assigned to the Transmission and Distribution Department in the Metering Division was described as curious, interactive, not afraid to ask questions and very willing to learn.
J’vani Fraser, who was assigned to the Generations Department (Administrative Aspect) was described as punctual, a fast learner, open-minded and eager to learn.
Overall, all interns displayed excellent performances throughout their tenure.
To our interns, we trust that your time at NEVLEC was meaningful and that it has equipped you with tools that you can use in the working world. Always remember that the sky is the limit. To you and all of the other interns we admonish you to remain focused and we wish you the very best.
